National shows in final phase taking place in Chisinau organized by the National Centre of Popular Creation under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Moldova

| National contest- festival of popular music and dance „La vatra horelor” | |
| Is organized once three years. Aims: Investigating and revaluating of folk dance of traditional rituals practiced in the past or that exist nowadays in community life, specific to folk tradition keeping its originality, style and interpretation feature, its functionality. Drawing out of anonymity the authentic dances. Fighting against the tendencies of polluting the choreographic folklore. Polarizing the public interest on the choreographic folklore. Enriching the repertory of music and popular dance groups The festival evolves the following sections: Children groups; Groups of young people and adults; Popular music orchestras. |
| Republican contest - festival of winter customs and traditions „V-am ura, v-am tot ura” | |
| The first edition took place in 1999-2000 according to the project elaborated by Iustina Scarlat, vice-canceller of state university of Arts. It followed 2002, 2004, 2006 editions and it will continue to take place once a two years. Aims: Promoting the popular drama traditional carol as a part of cultural patrimony. Confuting the tendencies of distorting and styling the folk creation. Completing the folk fund of cultural institutions that have as main purpose the revaluation of popular customs and traditions. Enriching the repertoire of artistic groups for amateurs with authentic creations In this festival can perform folkloric or dramatic groups that promote and revaluate the customs and traditions of the home village. The repertoire: Performances with zoomorphic masks (The Goat, The Bull, The Stag, The Ram, The nag, The Ewe Lamb, The Bear, The Stork... ). Traditional carols. Dramatic performances. Laical and fantastic: The Padishahs, The Bethlehem, The Prudes, The Adonis, Martisor, Odochia). Of outlaws: Bujor, Codreanu, Jianu, Pintea... Of stalwarts: Novac, Gruia, Brîncoveanu, Şoldan... Of recruits and soldiers: The Recruits , The Arnauts, The Husarii, etc; Social and life dramas: The country wedding, The Year, The Sisters etc. |

| The National contest- festival „Nicolae Sulac”is organized once a two years and it is for the singers of the popular songs Aims: Commemorating the famous popular singer Nicolae Sulac; Dissiminating the popular song; Stimulating the creational activity of the popular singers; Reevaluating the new informers of the popular song; Enriching the repertoire of the voice performers; |
| Republican contest - festival of folk singers „Maria Drăgan”, (Bălăureşti village, Nisporeni) | |
| Founded in 2001, two-yearly „Maria Drăgan” Festival is organized in collaboration with the district department of culture of Nisporeni and the guildhall of Bălăureşti village, having as aim finding folk singers and authentic creations of value and avoiding the musical, textual and cloths and falsification, forming a performing style peculiar to our area, keeping the musical heritage, commemorating the popular singer in her native village and revaluating her repertoire with the young singers. The Festival is for the singers of 16-40 years that promote the popular song. |
| Republican contest - festival of folk groups „La poale de codru” (At wood sides), (Căpriana village, Străşeni) | |
| Founded in 2003, the contest - festival „La poale de codru” (At woodsides) it is organized once a three years in collaboration with the district department of culture of Straseni and the guildhall of Capriana village, having as aim recuperating and saving the popular traditions completely as well as promoting them on the stages with the amateur artists from the villages, forbidding the modern costumes and reusing popular authentic wear, finding new talents and promoting them. The Festival is for the folk groups that promote popular customs that are practiced or were practiced authentically in their home villages without improvisations. |
| Republican contest - festival of fiddlers „Lăutarii Moldovei” (Moldova’s Fiddlers) , ( Edineţ) | |
| The republican contest - festival of fiddlers „Lăutarii Moldovei” (Moldova’s Fiddlers) is organized once a three years by The National Centre of Popular Creation and the district department of culture of Edineţ. In that contest – festival take part instrumental performers and groups of instrumentalists that reached the age of 18 years and that promote the folk music. Aims: Promoting the traditional style of instrumental performances. Artistically reevaluating the instrumental musical folklore peculiar to different folkloric zones. The instrumental performers take part in the contest according to the following groups of popular instruments: Blowing instruments (flute, whistle, reed, pan-pipe, bagpipe, ocarina, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, harmonica, accordion), Instruments with chords (fiddle, viola, cymbal), Pseudo instruments, (trees leaves, birch cortex, fish scale, grass blade, artistic whistling, drum). |
| National contest- festival of the violinists „Filip Todiraşcu” | |
| It is organized by the National Centre of Popular Creation and the Public Asociation „Filip Todiraşcu”. The contest- festival has as a purpose promoting the instrumental musical folklore, the violinists, commemorating the famous fiddler Filip Todiraşcu. In this contest-festival can perform the violinists that promote the traditional melodies at a high level and have 18 years. It is organized once a three years. |
| Republican contest - festival of dramatic reps „Vasile Alecsandri” (Călăraşi). | |
| It is organized in collaboration with the district department of culture of Călăraşi. It was founded in 1992. In 2006 took place its VIII-th edition. Aims: Developing the dramatic art of amateurs in republic of Moldova. Relieving the artistic value of the national and international classic contemporaneous drama. Promoting the popular talents, creators, producers, art directors, and screen writers. In this contest-festival can take part dramatic, squib and humor reps, circuses, folk bands that perform plays based on dramatic works of authors as well as folkloric shows. In different editions took part amateurs reps from Romania, Belarus, and Ukraine. |
| Choral festival-contest „La izvoare” | |
| Is organized once a three years, its final phase taking place in Chisinau, in which performs choral bands and vocal groups. Aims: Forming the spiritual culture and developing the choral art for amateurs in Republic of Moldova. Enriching the repertoire of choral bands and vocal groups with creations of artistic value. Stimulating the creation activity of choral bands and vocal groups of amateurs. |
| Contest - festival „Fanfara argintie” (Silver Fanfare) | |
| It is organized once a three years in collaboration with the district department of culture of Soroca. In it take part bands of blowing instruments of adults and children. Aims: Promoting the traditional music for fanfare Reviving the traditional forms of performing folk music in popular fanfares. Improving performing art. Enriching the repertoire of blowing instruments bands. |
| Republican contest - festival of modern music „Cireşar”, ( Bălţi) | |
| It is organized in collaboration with Municipal Department of culture from Bălţi. In the festival take part modern bands: vocal-instrumental, rock-groups, dixilennds, big-bands that are highly prepared, perform only live music and activate in cultural institutions in the country. Aims: Promoting national modern music of high value. Encouraging new talents. Educating the patriotism and the respect of national musical values. |
| Republican contest - festival of the modern dance | |
| The first edition of the national contest - festival of the modern dance took place in Chisinau, November 4-th, 2006. Organized in collaboration with the federation of Sport Dance of Moldova, the national contest - festival of the modern dance had as a purpose reevaluating of the modern dance basing on the national choreography and music, finding new talents and stimulating them, selecting the best groups of modern dance and enriching the repertoire of the groups. This festival will take place once a three years according to the following sections: Modern dance based on the national choreographic folklore; Modern dance of different styles. |
| The fair of the artisans „Tezaur” (yearly). | |
| It is organized during The National day of Chisinau at the beginning of October. In it take part popular artisans of the whole republic, creators of artistic values of diferent genres of popular art. The aims of the fair „Tezaur” Revising the latest creations of the most appreciated handicrafts of different genres; Making popular the handicraft art; Stimulating the creation activity of popular artisans. |

| It is organized once a three years at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (82, Mihail Cogalniceanu street, Chişinău). In this contest-exhibition take part artisans that make popular wear: shirts, ies, lap covers, head covers, winter clothes of fur, leather, wool for men and women, belts, cinctures, footwear ...). Aims: Reevaluating the tradition of popular wear; Promoting the artisans that make popular wear; Stimulating the activity of the tailories of wear confection. Appreciation criteria of the works proposed for the contest: respecting the national artistic tradition; variety of forms and decorations; artistic value; |
| Republican contest-exhibition of wattlers. | |
| It is organized once a three years at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (82, Mihail Cogalniceanu street, Chişinău). In this contest-exhibition take part popular artisans that make works of high artistic level of maize, straw, buirush, willow wattle respecting the national tradition of the genre. Aims: Revising the works of the best artisans of the genre. Stimulating the creative activity of them. Finding new talents. Appreciation criteria: respecting the national artistic tradition; variety of works; artistic mastership. |

| It is organized once a three years at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (82, Mihail Cogalniceanu street, Chişinău). In this contest- exhibition take part popular artisans from the republic, that practice the genres: lacery and embroidery and that create artistic works based on traditional confection and ornamentation. Appreciation criteria of the works proposed for the contest: respecting the national artistic tradition of the genre; variety of objects; artistic mastership. |

| The republican contest-exhibition of the wood carvers it is organized once a three years at the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History (82, Mihail Cogalniceanu street, Chişinău). In this contest-exhibition take part popular wood carvers that create artistic works of value and promote the tradition of the genre in modernity. Aims: Revising the works of the artisans. Stimulating the creative activity of the best artisans of the genre. Finding new talents. Reevaluating and popularizing the art of wood carving. |
| With the purpose of examination of the activity of artistic formation for amateurs, of perfection of interpretative applied art of collectives, once in three years it is organized the Certification of formations with the purpose of assignment, confirmation, or cancellation of a title as „The model artistic formation”.
