The National Centre of Popular Creation of Republic of Moldova ( NCPC) is a state institution under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism that has as main purpose coordinating the artistic activity of the amateurs, investigating, keeping and revaluating the traditional popular creation.
NCPC is situated on 50 Mihai Eminescu street, Chisinau city
NCPC bases its activity on the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, regulating documents in the domain, the orders and the disposals of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The Objectives and the Tasks of NCPC:
NCPC combines the activity of valuing and promoting the popular tradition with the investigating one and has as main objectives:
- Specialty methodical guidance of the activity of the artistic associations for amateurs, of popular artisans, of creators and performers from villages and cities;
- Scientifically investigating, hoarding, keeping and improving the popular creation;
- Instructive-educational and expositional activity concerning cultural goods with historical, documentary, artistic, ethnographic value from the old times till nowadays, important for national and universal culture
NCPC has the following attributions:
- Offers specialty assistance to the cultural departments and sections in the territory, to the specialists – directors of artistic groups for amateurs, popular masters, it is a laboratory for studying and practicing for these specialists and students etc.;
- Elaborates and creates activity programs and cultural projects according to the cultural strategy promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism;
- Coordinates the encouragement and the development of the popular artistic creation, the discovery, protection, promotion of authentic talents, valuing in nowadays the popular cultural traditions with the purpose of continual enrichment and diversification of programs and cultural-artistic life of the republic, as well as national culture integration in European and International context;
- In collaboration with interested subjects it attends to selecting, forming and improving the qualification of the instructors, artistic directors, popular artisans, singers from the artistic activity of amateurs in order to increase their masterliness and improve continuously the content and the quality of the artistic programs;
- Assists in controlling the cultural-artistic institutions of popular art and handicraft that are under the subordination of The Ministry of Culture and Tourism in what concerns respecting the laws in effect in the cultural domain;
- Forms working groups of notorious specialists with the purpose of examining the problems in the domain and suggesting proposals for the projects of normative acts of different cultural spheres;
- Organizes expositions, festivals-contests, symposiums, conferences, seminars and perfecting courses for different categories of workers from cultural sphere;
- Examines the activity of artistic groups of amateurs and proposes to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, according to the Regulation of model groups, awarding, confirming or canceling the title of “model” group;
- Publishes and distributes periodicals to cultural institutions, artistic troops, and to specialists in domain;
- NCPC collaborates with individuals and organizations in country and abroad in order to realize cultural programs and projects;

- Folk department with specialists in musical, literary folklore, folkloric song, popular dance, ancient customs and traditions. The folk archive keeps audio, video and photo and other documents: ph.nr.: 22-25-43;
- Artistic creation department for amateurs offers consultation to specialists in choral art domain, pop music, aerophones, theatrical art and circus, sport dance and gala dance.
- Popular handicraft department coordinates the activity of the specialists in artistic handicrafts and popular wear domains.
